Information we collect
We collect account details such as your name, username, email address, password credentials and profile image. We also store competitions, votes, comments, reports, bookmarks, entry records, alerts and sponsor information you choose to provide. Technical records may include IP address, browser and device information, security logs, cookie preferences and page interactions.
Why we use your information
We process information to provide the service and fulfil our agreement with you; protect CompDeals and its members through our legitimate interests in security and moderation; comply with legal obligations; and, for optional analytics or advertising storage, where you have given consent.
Who receives information
We may use service providers for hosting, storage, security, AI-assisted moderation, analytics and payments. They may process only the information required to provide their service. Competition operators are independent organisations with their own privacy policies when you follow an external link.
Retention and international transfers
We retain account and community records while your account is active and for a proportionate period afterwards for security, dispute and legal purposes. Reports and moderation records may be retained longer to prevent abuse. Where information is processed outside the UK, we use an appropriate UK transfer safeguard where required.
Your UK data rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. Children
CompDeals is intended for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly create accounts for children.
